Due to the game's extended downtime, we will be extending OOC Search until August 15. (Should the downtime continue to that point, or very near it, we will consider further extension.) Click here for our 2008 Search application. Any further updates will be posted on this site.

Questions can be directed to the Search Coordinator at Lhiannonth(at)yahoo(dot)com

Severe weather has put up another delay; the latest is that they're hoping to have the MUSH up by the weekend, but there are no guarantees as they're not sure when the aftereffects of the weather will be cleared up entirely, not to mention other RL commitments/necessities.

Also, due to this further delay, Igen will be having its clutching off-camera; when the game's back up, a bbpost will go up with the details of the already-happened clutch. We will be accepting egg descs until that time. Watch this space and our refuge on Too for any further Search and/or game-related updates.

Dyane pops on to give a quick update. I have the "new" machine and all of the parts I ordered for it to update it have come in. Unfortunately, one of the components took longer than promised to arrive but it did and the machine is built. The goal is to have the game installed, tested, DNS dealt will and put into its final place. We are doing this after work hours (crazy for 2 of us) and after kid bedtimes so we know it is slower than most of you are hoping for but we are doing what we can with what time we have. I'm sorry for the delay but hopefully there is understanding with RL scheduling re work and such. The goal is to have ... by the end of the weekend at the latest (Murphy's law not interfering).

Dyane pops on quickly and gives an update re PernMUSH. We are moving the game to a new machine in a new location completely to get it fully out of RR's reach. Our goal is to get it up and running by early next week. I just returned from vacation so I now can get working on the new machine/location. To reassure all, we managed to get the hard drive up long enough to get another copy of the database so we should be uptodate from the day of the outage. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Since we don't have the IGW/general bboards as a resource right now, I'm putting this here for the Igen community. If you all know folks who might be interested in other areas, please do pass the word on! This is the official call for egg descs for the upcoming clutching, the theme being Cocktails (alcoholic and the more PG-13 versions). Bloody Mary, Shirley Temple, Pina Colada - even swizzle sticks. Egg descriptions should be no more than 10 lines long, include an egg name, the inspiration, and - preferably - a clutching pose of no more than 6 lines or so (ie: Lhiannonth digs another hole and deposits a dark red egg with a streak of green. Only preferably a tad more creative.) Egg stuff should be submitted to Josilina via e-mail (Lhiannonth@yahoo.com) - questions can also be submitted to the same spot, or if you catch me online. Thanks in advance, and I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Also, don't forget, Search apps are at: http://community.livejournal.com/igw_nc/4751.html - spread the word, tell a friend. :)

According to Dyane: "We got RR fixed but unfortunately, this morning it seems that the hard drive failed. We won't be able to get to the machine physically to make the swaps and such til mid-late next week due to being out of town. Please pass along that info. We're sorry about that but of course things crap out when vacations hit."

When asked about the database being intact: "As far as I know, it should be. We'll know more when I get back into town."

I will update as more info comes in, if any does.

PernMUSH is currently down - I have no word on the 'why', as of yet, but in the meantime, PernMUSH players have a refuge on TooMUSH: 209.157.143.163 port 6660. Igen has its own spot at #506. Hope to see you there, and keep an eye here for updates!

Behind this cut is the general application for Igen Weyr's Sumer 2008 Search cycle. Applications should be sent to Lhiannonth(at)yahoo(dot)com with the subject "Search Application: (Character's Name)"; OOC Search opens after the flight, the evening of July 7, and closes on August 10, 2008. Questions should be directed on-game to Josilina or via email to the address above. Before applying, please be sure to read our Search information, all posted to this livejournal under subject headings "Search Info" or the tag "search info."

8/13/08 EDIT: *NEW* OOC Search deadline is Aug. 18 due to the extended game downtime. This is subject to change by WC input, but please treat it as a final deadline, as we are looking to not jar the overall game schedule more than necessary. The game is back up, and we welcome everyone to come check out Igen - please don't hesitate to page or +mail Igen staff or the Search Coordinator (Josilina) with any questions or concerns.

Below this second cut is the Stand-Only application for Igen's Search. If you wish to stand as a stand-only candidate (that is to say, be part of the candidate class but not be considered for Impression) please only fill out this application, and send it to Lhiannonth(at)yahoo(dot)com. And remember, Stand-Only applicants are allowed to change their minds and switch to standing-for-Impression applicants until about two weeks before the Hatching; if you decide to do this, please contact Josilina.
